Yon Fall Maternal Roots Sale Results - October 27-28, 2023
We hosted a 2-day event the last weekend in October on Friday and Saturday. The Maternal Roots Sale offering included both bulls and females, mainly registered Angus, with a select offering of SimAngus and Ultrablack genetics. The sale was broadcast live on DVAuctions.com. A video auction style was used to sell all 357 lots on screens displayed in auction area. Auctioneers were Eddie Burks and Dave Mullins. The results of the sale are as follows:

The top-selling bull was Lot 200, Yon Discipline, leased to Select Sires, sold one-half semen interest for $57,000 to the following breeders; Baker Cattle Farm, Norman Park, GA; Windy Pond Angus, Moultrie, GA; Connealy Angus Farm, Whitman, NE; Knoll Crest Farm, Red House, VA. This bull is sired by Tehama Patriarch F028.
The second high-selling bull was, Lot 205, Yon Silverstreet, for $35,000 sold to Poss Angus, in Scotia, NE. His sire is Sitz Stellar 726D. (Yons retained a 1/3 semen interest)
Third-high bull was Lot 219, Yon Barricade K1076, sold for $19,000 to Norton Creek Farms, Inc. in Franklin, NC.
Top open heifer was Lot 7, Yon Sally L65, at $26,000 to Elm Tree Farm in Paris, KY. She is sired by Yon Top Cut G730.
Second high open heifer was Lot 15, Yon Sarah L46, at $18,000 sold to Heritage Farm in Shelbyville, KY. She is sired by Tehama Patriarch F028.
Third high open heifer was Lot 1, Yon Sarah L473, sold to Windy Pond Angus in Moultrie, GA. She is sired by Yon Top Cut G730.
Top bred heifer was Lot 21, Yon Witch K1134, at $10,000 to Kenny Angus in Odebolt, IA.
Top fall pair was Lot 80/80A, Yon Sarah H622, at $9,750 to Riverhill Farm in Fountain Inn, SC.
Top spring split-pair was Lot 85/85A, Yon OCR Sarah H1172 and Yon Sarah L728, sold for $21,000 total to Baker Cattle Farm in Norman Park, GA (Lot 85) and Martin Farms in Lyles, TN (Lot 85A).

Third-high bull was Lot 281, Yon Patriarch K63, sold for $23,000 to Branch View Angusw in Hustonville, KY.
Top open heifer was Lot 3, Yon Witch K668, at $50,000 to De Su Angus in New Albin, IA.
Second high open heifer was Lot 1, Yon Hazel K158, at $44,000 to Maplecrest Farms in Hillsboro, OH and Pollard Farms in Waukomis, OK.
Third high open heifer was Lot 2, Yon Sarah K757, at $25,000 to De Su Angus in New Albin, IA. All three heifers are sired by Yon Top Cut G730.
Top bred heifer was Lot 97, Yon Sarah J1210, at $22,500 to Elm Tree Farms in Paris, KY.

Second high open heifer was Lot 260, Yon Sarah J42, at $35,000 to Edisto Pines in Leesville, SC and San Jose River Farm in Fayetteville, TN.
Third high open heifer was Lot 264, Yon Hazel J357, at $32,000 sold to De-Su Angus in New Albin, IA.
Yon Fall Sale - October 31, 2020
A sunny, warm day was the setting for the Yon Fall Sale on October 31st. The sale offering included both bulls and females, mainly registered Angus, with a select offering of SimAngus and Ultrablacks. The sale was broadcast live on the Internet using the services of DVAuctions. This enabled both bidders at the sale and those unable to attend, the opportunity to view the auction and bid. A standing room only crowd was on hand throughout the day as the 298 head came through the ring. A delicious beef stew, lunch, was served by neighbors and friends, as well as many former employees and friends were on hand to help make the auction run smoothly. Auctioneers were Eddie Burks and Darren Carter. The results of the sale are as follows:

A warm fall day was enjoyed by all at the Yon Fall Sale on October 26th. The sale offering included both bulls and females, mainly registered Angus, with a select offering of SimAngus and Ultrablack genetics. The sale was broadcast live on the Internet using the services of DVAuctions. A standing room only crowd was on hand throughout the day as 305 head came through the ring. Neighbors and friends, as well as many former employees served delicious beef stew and were on hand to help make the auction run smoothly. Auctioneers were Eddie Burks and Darren Carter. Second high open heifer was Lot 285, Yon Burgess G158, sold to Wall Street Cattle Co. in Labanon, MO.
