34th Annual Spring Sale - February 17, 2024
A cold, but sunny day was enjoyed by all at the 34th Annual Yon Spring Sale on February 17th. The sale offering included both bulls and females, mainly registered Angus, with a select offering of SimAngus and Ultrablack genetics. The sale was broadcast live on DVAuctions.com. Auctioneers were Eddie Burks and Dave Mullins.
The results of the sale are as follows:
- 118 Yearling Angus bulls averaged $7,602
- 12 Yearling SimAngus bulls averaged $6,750
- 4 Yearling Ultrablack bulls averaged $4,375
- 23 Angus Fall Pairs averaged $10,130
- 7 SimAngus Fall Pairs averaged $6,000
- 6 Ultrablack Fall Pairs averaged $4,750
- 12 Angus Bred Cows averaged $7,188
- 7 Angus Spring Calving Bred Heifers averaged $5,964

The top bull sold for $20,000 as Lot 1. Yon Top Cut L225, sired by Yon Top Cut G730, sold to Justin Spickler in Glenfield, ND. (Yons retained a 1/3 semen interest) The top selling fall pair, Lot 166/166A, Yon Sarah H344, at $20,000 to Herndon Farms in Lyons, GA. Lot 166, served as a donor cow at YFF and is sired by Deer Valley Growth Fund. She sold with a heifer calf at side sired by Yon Saluda.
The top selling bred cow, Lot 204, Yon Sarah H401, at $20,000 to Herndon Farms in Lyons, GA. Lot 204, was also a donor at YFF and is sired by Yon Chattooga E46. She is due to calve to Yon Premium in March 2024.
Cattle were sold into sixteen states, with long-time repeat customers as well as first time buyers, sharing in the purchases. The internet saw active bidding all day long, with almost half of the winning bidders being online. There were cattle for every budget, with excellent genetics at affordable prices. All cattle were sold satisfaction guaranteed.

The top selling female lot was a fall pair, Lot 204/204A, Yon Burgess F469, at $18,000 to Windy Pond Farms in Moultrie, GA. Lot 204, served as a donor cow at YFF and is sired by Basin Payweight 1682. She sold with a heifer calf at side sired by Yon Top Cut G730.

A cold, but sunny day was enjoyed by all at the 30th Annual Yon Spring Sale on February 15th. The sale offering included both bulls and females, mainly registered Angus, with a select offering of SimAngus and Ultrablack genetics. The sale was broadcast live on the Internet using the services of DVAuctions. A standing room only crowd was on hand throughout the day as 265 lots came through the ring. Neighbors and friends prepared and served delicious chili, and many former interns and employees were in the back making the auction run smoothly. Auctioneers were Eddie Burks and Darren Carter. The second high selling bull was Lot 2, Yon Reno G730, at $15,000 to Select Sires Inc. in Plain City, OH. (Yons retained a 1/3 semen interest)
Third high selling bull was Lot 8, Yon Full Force G523, at $13,000 to Alta Genetics in Watertown, WI.
The top selling female lot was a fall pair, Lot 240/240A, Yon Sarah D238, at $6,250 to S&B Farms in Morganton, NC. Lot 240 is sired by Yon Final Answer W494 and sold with a heifer calf at side sired by BUBS Southern Charm AA31.
